PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which enables the use state of a line to be known. SOLUTION: When a transmission is instructed on a key pad 11 (ST1), a scanner 4 reads a document and stores it in an image memory 10 (ST2). It is decided whether the line is being used (ST3), when so, a time begins to be counted for the job (ST4) and the job is registered in a transmission queue (ST5). When the line use ends (ST3), the job is selected from the queue, the wait time counting of the job is ended (ST7), and FAX transmission is performed (ST8).
