PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crimp terminal of which, cover crimping pieces do not damage wire cover and hold the cover with sufficient clamping force when connecting the crimp terminal to a tip of the covered wire by crimping. SOLUTION: The crimp terminal 10, comprising a contact part 11, a base part 12 connected to the contact part and extending backward thereof, left and right side core wire crimping pieces 13, 13 protruding upwards at the left and right end sides of the front part of the base part, and left and right side core wire crimping pieces 14, 15 protruding upwards at the left and right end sides of the back part of the base part, is integrally formed by punching a metal plate. A tapered surface 15a, becoming thin as it is headed toward the tip part, is formed to the outer surface side of the upper end part of the one crimping piece out of the crimping pieces 14, 15, and a tapered surface 14a, becoming thin as it is headed toward the tip part, is formed to the outer surface side of the upper end part of the other crimping piece.
