PURPOSE: A slidable cap tilting stay system having multi-stepped locking structure is provided to prevent accidents caused by sudden ascent and descent in opening or closing a cap by controlling the opening speed of the cap through a cable connected to one side of a locking unit. CONSTITUTION: A slidable cap tilting stay system having multi-stepped locking structure comprises a lower rod(40) fixed to a body frame of a vehicle and an upper rod(50) fixed to a cap of the vehicle. The upper rod is slidably superposed on the outside of the lower rod. The lower rod has an elastic locking unit(60) therein, to be fitted to the upper rod. The locking unit comprises a cylindrical cover both sides of which are open; locking pins fitted to the sides of the cover; and a spring member disposed between the locking pins. Guide holes are formed along the periphery of the cover and a fitting projection is formed on a side of the locking pin along the guide hole. A projected step is formed in the middle of the outer peripheral surface of the cover and a cable(67) is connected to the projected step.
