There are a first pair of pivoted clamps (4), formed head-to-head on the wall (2) of the box, each pair of clamps situated in the plane having an axis of symmetry of the box, and each clamp subjected to a translation movement and a rotation movement, this translatory movement caused by screwing of a screw (5) in a threaded shaft (7) of the clamp. There is a pivoting unit (44) allowing rotation of each clamp, with guides (6,8) ensuring the guiding, in translation, of the each clamp when the screw is screwed. The by-pass box (1) includes a casing (2) with rounded corners (20), closed by a bottom (3) and an axis of symmetry perpendicular to the bottom, for connecting two electric wires assembled in a hollow closure.
