<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface type phase change recording medium and a high-density optical recording system performing recording and reproducing by proximity field light using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The surface type phase change recording medium is formed by laminating a reflection layer 22, a dielectric layer 23, a recording layer 24, a composite material layer 25 of ZnS and SiO<SB>2</SB>, a protective layer 26 having the thermal conductivity higher than the thermal conductivity of the composite material layer of the ZnS and SiO<SB>2</SB>, and a lubricating layer 27 in this order on a substrate 21, and performs recording and reproducing by the proximity field light 6 which is made incident through the lubricating layer 27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
