<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of enhancing the reproduction quality of characters and thin lines included in an image in the case of outputting a bit map image read by a scanner by using a plurality of printers each having an electrophotography process. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus having a read means for reading an image, a network connection means connected to a network, and a transmission means for transmitting an image read by the read means to one or more image output devices, includes: an image area separation means for separating areas such as a character part, a thin line part and a photo part of the image read by the read means into two or more kinds; and a density revision means for revising the density of an optional area only depending on the result of image area separation, and determines a revision amount of the density revision means by each area and transmits the result to each of a plurality of the output devices. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
