PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save electric power while ensuring image data conversion processing as to a device and a program for image conversion for converting image data. SOLUTION: An RIP program 120 incorporated in an RIP server 100 has an RIP processing part 121 and a suspending transition control part 122; and the RIP processing part 121 converts page description data into dot data representing a dot image for realizing a print image that the page description data represent as actual printed matter and the suspending transition control part 122 monitors the RIP processing part 121 and places the RIP server in a suspended state through an API of an OS 130 when a specified condition in which it is considered that an RIP process breaks off, e.g. the standby state of the RIP process reaches a specified time.
