<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for suitably simplifying filter processing at image decoding at a high speed and realizing an effective filtering effect. <P>SOLUTION: A de-block filter processing discriminates whether or not each difference between values of target pixels v<SB>0</SB>to v<SB>7</SB>and values of reference pixels r<SB>y0</SB>to r<SB>y7</SB>exceeds a threshold, performs a filter arithmetic operation in a horizontal direction as to the target pixels v<SB>0</SB>to v<SB>7</SB>on the basis of only the values of the target pixels v<SB>0</SB>to v<SB>7</SB>and the values of reference pixels r<SB>x0</SB>, r<SB>x1</SB>, decides whether or not the filter arithmetic operation in a vertical direction is applied to the target pixels v<SB>0</SB>to v<SB>7</SB>on the basis of only the discrimination result, and performs the filter arithmetic operation as to the target pixels v<SB>0</SB>to v<SB>7</SB>on the basis of only the values of the target pixels v<SB>0</SB>to v<SB>7</SB>and the values of the reference pixels r<SB>y0</SB>to r<SB>y7</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
