<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a process of verifying the existence and the completeness of an electronic document, and reduce the memory capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic verifier 100 comprises a hash value calculator 104 for generating a hash value from a specified electronic document; an access- permitted area 111 for storing the electronic document; an access-limited area 112 for the hash value of the electronic document; a postscript processor 102 for generating the latest hash value from the electronic document with postscript information to update the hash value in the access-limited area 112 and the electronic document in the access-permitted area 111, each time the postscript information is attached to the electronic document; and a verifying unit 106 for verifying the existence of falsification of the electronic document in the access-permitted area 111, based on a verifying hash value generated from the electronic document in the access-permitted area 111 and the latest has value in the access-limited area 112. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
