PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus capable of attaching optimum sender information depending on a transmission purpose to image data. SOLUTION: A RAM 30 stores a registration dial list T1 and a group list T2. In the case of group transmission on the basis of an operation of a group dial key 63g, the communication apparatus attaches sender information including a name of group to image data of an original read by a read section 40. In the case of ordinary FAX transmission on the basis of an operation of an abbreviation/telephone directory key 62 or a one-touch key 63 or the like on the other hand, the communication apparatus attaches ordinary sender information to an upper end of image data of an original read by the read section 40 and transmits the resulting image data to a destination. Thus, the communication apparatus can attach optimum sender information to image data depending on the purpose of FAX transmission. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
