PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a red organic EL device having improved quantum yield and long-time stability by developing new light emitting compound and a doping agent. SOLUTION: The EL device includes compound having a alight emitting layer of formula 1 as the doping agent or the light emitting compound. Here, R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>12</SB>groups are Hydrogen, straight chain, or branch chain 1-6C alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or substitution aryl, R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>, R<SB>3</SB>, R<SB>4</SB>, R<SB>5</SB>, R<SB>11</SB>, R<SB>8</SB>and R<SB>12</SB>may form alicyclic, heterocyclic, or aromatic ring, and R<SB>5</SB>may be further H, OH, OR<SB>9</SB>, N, N-di-(1-6C) alkylamino, acetylamino, or harogen. R<SB>6</SB>and R<SB>7</SB>may form alicyclic or heterocyclic ring, A<SB>1</SB>and A<SB>2</SB>are -CN, -NO<SB>2</SB>, or -COOR<SB>8</SB>, X is -CH, -CR<SB>11</SB>, or N, and Y is O, -NH, -NR<SB>12</SB>, S, or Se.
