PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and A method for manufacturing the same are provided to realize clear cutting without damage on the substrates by arranging posts at active areas and scribe line areas and bonding the substrates without dispersing spacers. CONSTITUTION: A metal film, a gate double insulating film, an amorphous silicon, a doped amorphous silicon, and another metal films are sequentially applied and etched on a transparent substrate to form TFT(Thin Film Transistor)s, gate bus lines, and data bus lines. A passivation film is applied on the insulating substrate where the TFTs are formed. Via holes, posts(38) for maintaining a cell gap, and another passivation film are formed on the TFTs, gate pads, and data pads by using a half-tone mask. An ITO material is applied on the insulating substrate and then etched to form pixel electrodes. |
