PURPOSE: A wrong operation detecting device of a motor for a washing machine and a method thereof are provided to prevent trouble by detecting the abnormal state of the motor according to the end time of braking of the motor in sensing braking command during washing, and to lengthen the life span by quickly coping with the trouble. CONSTITUTION: A wrong operation detecting device of a motor(400) is composed of a counter(200) counting time by the end of braking in inputting the braking command; a memory storing braking end time; a microcomputer(600) deciding the abnormal state of the motor by detecting the number of the case if the time stored in the memory is over the reference time; and a display unit(500) displaying the wrong operation of the motor according to the control signal from the microcomputer. |
