The sports garment or under-garment, e.g. for wearing under a swimming costume, comprises a mesh panel (2) made from a woven or nonwoven fabric that allows water or other fluids to pass through and is either non-absorbent or absorbs only small quantities. The panel is held up by one band (1) of a non-slip material that goes round the waist or thereabouts, and two other similar bands (3) that go round the legs above the groin zones.
