PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a control valve lead battery capable of providing a strap with excellent corrosion resistance and high reliability with a pole plate tab part welded to a strap without a clearance when the strap of the control valve lead battery is manufactured by the COS method. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, the pole plate tab part is covered with Pb-Sn alloy, Pb-Ca-Sn alloy, or Pb-Sn-Ag alloy containing Sn amount equal or higher than an Sn amount contained in a lattice or the strap and of 5 w.% or less, and meeting the requirements of X≤3 w.% and Y≥0.03 w.% where Sn content is X w.% and Ag content is Y w.%.
