PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device capable of easily distinguishing each numerical character input key with the number of projections or recesses formed on a surface of the key. SOLUTION: An operating device is provided with '0' to '9' numerical character input keys. The '0' to '4' keys are provided respectively with zero to four projections 12a to 12d formed in a circumference of each surface thereof. The '5' to '9' keys are provided respectively with zero to four projections 12a to 12d formed in each circumference thereof as well as a projection 14 corresponding to '5' formed in a central part of each surface thereof. Each numerical character input key is thereby distinguished based on the number of projections 12a to 12d and 14 formed on its surface. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
