GARBAGE DISPOSER AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Provided are a garbage disposer and a method for controlling the same, which is capable of rapidly fermenting food waste by controlling a temperature and humidity inside thereof so as for microorganism to grow and multiply therein well by installing a heater therein and further rapidly eliminating moisture of food waste not to generate leachate. CONSTITUTION: The disposer comprises a main body(10) with mixing tank(12) therein, a door unit(12) for opening and closing the mixing tank(11) and a vent(13) at the top thereof for exhausting gas, a mixer(20) installed in the mixing tank(11) for mixing food waste in the mixing tank(11) by rotating blades(21), an air intake pipe(30) connected to the main mixer(20) for introducing air into the mixing tank(11), a heater(40) for heating food waste to vaporize moisture in the food waste not to generate leachate and keeping a temperature and humidity inside of the disposer so as microorganism to grow and multiply actively, thereby escalating fermentation of food waste, a deodorizing unit(50) installed at the vent(13) for eliminating vapor and odor generated from the mixing tank(11), and a control unit(60) for controlling environment of the mixing tank(11) and operation of the heater(40) and the air intake pipe(30). The method comprises the steps of opening a door for introducing food waste into a mixing tank, starting operation of a heater for food waste to be fermented at an optimal temperature and humidity, starting an air intake fan for introducing fresh air into the mixing tank, driving a motor of a mixer for stirring food waste in the mixing tank, a temperature sensor for detecting a temperature of inside of the mixing tank and food leftover, stopping a power supply for controlling operation of the heater, and driving a deodorizing unit for deodorizing gas generated from the mixing tank and venting the deodorized gas.
