PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of automatically performing electronic watermark processing or encryption processing depending on the photographing situation. SOLUTION: A user can discriminate the necessity of the electronic watermark processing and the encryption processing in advance to the digital camera depending on the number of recorded pixels, a compression rate, and a photographing mode of an image. When an image is photographed with a designated number of recorded pixels, or at a specified compression rate, or in a specified photographing mode, the digital camera automatically applies the electronic watermark processing or the encryption processing to the image. Thus, the trouble of discriminating the necessity of the electronic watermark processing or the encryption processing for each photographing can be avoided and the user can comfortably perform photographing.
