PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image storing apparatus capable of easily searching prescribed image data without requiring an intricate registration operation or the like. SOLUTION: An image management apparatus is provided with a memory for storing image data recorded in a connected storage medium; and a management control means for executing a first management control for storing the image data in the memory and registering information about the image data as management data, and a second managing control for registering the information about the image data as management data without storing the image data in the memory.
