PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent improper force stronger than predetermined force and a change in an electrical property by absorbing vibration to a socket and to maintain a stable contact state by operating a rotation shaft part of a pressurizing lever for pressurizing and holding an IC package by a preliminary stroke as idle movement. SOLUTION: This IC socket comprises a seating for mounting an electronic part, a socket body for mounting the seating, a cover member provided so as to move vertically with respect to the socket body, a pressurizing mechanism for holding the electronic part mounted on the seating, and a plurality of contacts connected to the electronic part. The pressurizing mechanism includes the pressurizing lever turnably supported with respect to the socket body, and an operating mechanism for turning the pressurizing lever by a pressure of the cover member. A bearing groove part for engaging the operating mechanism with the rotation shaft part on an end of the pressurizing lever by the idle movement is provided on the cover member.
