<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-converting device of high working ratio by using a plurality of low-voltage inverters that are manufactured as a standardized device. <P>SOLUTION: This power-converting device comprises: a converter 2 that converts AC power to DC power; a plurality of inverters 4 each connected in series to a DC power source and connected in parallel to each other; output transformers 5 each connected to the output side of each inverter 4 via an output breaker 12 and whose secondary sides are connected in series to each other; fuses 11 connected to the input side of the inverters 4; short circuit breakers 13 each connected to short-circuit the primary side of each output transformer; and a failure detecting device 8 that detects failures of the inverters 4. When the failure-detecting device detects a failure of one of the inverters 4, the gate of the failed inverter 4 is blocked and its output breaker 12 is opened so that its short circuit breaker 13 is closed to separate the failed inverter 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
