<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce power loss when an LED is lit by an AC voltage. <P>SOLUTION: An LED lighting circuit comprises a capacitor connected in series with the LED, a diode having a cathode connected to the anode of the LED and having an anode connected to the cathode of the LED in the circuit of the LED and the diode connected in parallel with each other. A parallel circuit of the LED and the diode is connected in series to the capacitor, and connected to an AC power source to light the LED.
