PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for recording/reproducing moving images in which a user can insert an index in a desired position during recording the moving images. SOLUTION: During recording the moving images (302) using the device for recording/reproducing the moving images provided with an index insertion button, by operating the index insertion button at a desired timing (303), the index is inserted (304). A frame in the position of the index is displayed as a thumbnail so that efficiency in understanding a content of the moving image data and reproducing/editing procedure is improved.
