PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector with an improved contact-retaining force, with an excessive deformation and twisting prevented, with rigidity improved, and easy to handle at working. SOLUTION: A retainer 15 is provided with a connector part 15a and an elastic piece 15b which deforms pressed toward the main body 15a side by a container part 11a when it is inserted into the container part 11a of an insulator 11. Both ends of the elastic piece 15b are joined with the main body part 15a and the elastic piece 15b is provided with a first locking part 15c locking to the insulator 11 when the retainer 15 is inserted into the container part 11a, and an excessive deformation preventing part 15d protruded toward the elastic piece 15b side is formed at the connector part 15a.
