发明名称 IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO THE MAKING OF T-JUNCTIONS IN ELECTRIC CABLES
摘要 1316101 Welding by pressure ELECTRICITY COUNCIL 7 Aug 1970 [7 Aug 1969] 39659/69 Heading B3R [Also in Division H2] A tap-connector is bonded to an exposed cable conductor of the same material by pressure combined with relative linear motion of 10 to 30 mm., or angular motion of 2 to 5 revolutions, between connector and conductor. It is stated that this produces a partially welded metal-tometal adhesive bond between conductor and connector. A spur cable conductor is subsequently connected to the connector. As shown, Fig. 2, an Al pin 12 is secured in a blind hole in an Al cable conductor 10 by rotation for two revolutions of the pin in the hole under a pressure of 60 to 180 N/mm<SP>2</SP>. A Cu spur cable conductor 15 is then crimped to a Cu ferrule 17 soldered &c. to pin 12. The pin has a square or hexagonal head 13 so that it may be gripped for rotation e.g., in a chuck; pin 12 may have a threaded portion by means of which it is rotated in a support collar adjacent conductor 10. A flexible Cu member (33, Fig. 5, not shown), may be interposed between the pin and the ferrule. In Fig. 7, Al conductor strands 41 are wedged into a conical hole in an Al collar 42 by means of a linearly movable Al wedge 43 to which spur cable conductor 44 is soldered or crimped.
