1344872 Auxiliary hydraulic pump supply for hydraulic circuit ABEX CORP 19 April 1971 [6 March 1970] 23341/71 Heading F1A A continuously driven pump 12 provides an auxiliary supply for a circuit 9 by maintaining pressure in a line 21 even when pressure in the circuit prevents opening of a non-return valve 22, the liquid which would be delivered, if required, being accounted for by internal leakage. When pressure falls in the circuit 9 due to, say, failure of its pump 13, the non-return valve 22 immediately opens and the pump 12 speeds up to supply the circuit. The pump 12 is of the fixed displacement axial piston type driven through a shaft 29 by an identical liquid or gas driven motor 11. To enable leakage to occur, each pump piston 48 is provided with an orifice 90 through which liquid escapes to a casing 32 having a drain port 70. (For Figure see next page) |
