The lock cylinder (1) has one or two housing halves with rotatable core (24) for turning the closing member (22) mounted rotatable in a U-shaped housing recess (4) defined by a web (9) associated with the flange section (12) of the lock cylinder. An ideal bending point (14) is provided associated with the web or the adjoining flange section in the corner area (13) of the housing recess. The bending point can be formed by material weakness provided by a recess in the corner area of the web.
