DUAL USE SYRINGE

An injection syringe (10) for the injection of materials into domestic animals is provided. The syringe (10) includes a tubular body (12) having a guide member (34) positioned within the body (12) that is adapted to engage and properly position fluid-containing straws (36) of varying diameters with respect to the syringe (10). A plunger (28) can be inserted through the body (12) and through the guide member (34) to expel the material from within the straw (36) out of the body (12). The tubular body (12) and the straws (36) that can be used with the tube (12) can be positioned within a removable hygienic sheath (48) that allows the syringe (10) to be used for multiple fluid transfers.
