The present invention concerns a purification process for polysaccharide antigens involving the removal of contaminating endotoxin by affinity-binding of the lipid A moiety of LPS with synthetic anti-endotoxin peptides (SAEP), which results in polysaccharides having a content of endotoxin lower than 0.125 Endotoxin Unit / µg polysaccharide, equivalent to less than 0.00125 % (w/w).
