<p>External preparations for skin characterized by containing an alkyl benzoate represented by the general formula (1), which give nongreasy feelings in use and permit stable incorporation with drugs or ultraviolet absorbers; and water-in-oil type emulsion sunscreen cosmetics characterized by containing a polyhydroxystearate ester represented by the general formula (2) or (3), an alkyl benzoate represented by the general formula (1), and an ultraviolet absorber, which permit stable incorporation with ultraviolet absorbers and are excellent in applicability: (1) [wherein R is linear or branched alkyl having 8 to 15 carbon atoms] (2) [wherein R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; a and b are integers satisfying the relationship: a + b = 1 to 30; and m is an integer of 10 to 200], and (3) [wherein R1 and R2 are each independently hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; a and b are integers satisfying the relationship: a + b = 1 to 30; and n is an integer of 1 to 30].</p> |
