<p>An optical imaging system (10) with a first imaging lens (13), a field stop (14), and a second imaging lens (15) configured to reduce the amount of dead space between images of samples (22). According to various embodiments, a method for imaging can comprise collimating light collected from a plurality of samples (22) spaced on a sample holder (11) by means of a plurality of collection lenses (12), focusing the collimated light onto a primary image plane (20) by means of the first imaging lens; re-collimating the light by means of the second imaging lens; detecting (16) the light from each of the plurality of samples, wherein light from the plurality of samples is substancially detected while at least a portion of light from dead space between the plurality of samples is blocked by the field stop.</p> |
