<p>The present invention is an apparatus (500) (Fig. 6) that includes a chamber rotor (504) with a chamber (526) and an extension rotor (502) with an extension (516). The rotors are housed in a rotor case (506). A pressure cavity (524) is at least transiently formed by the extension rotor and the chamber rotor. The present invention also includes a compressor (100) (Fig. 2a) that includes a chamber rotor (104) with a chamber (112) and an extension rotor (102) with an extension (108) where the extension is adapted to be received in the chamber when the rotors are synchronously rotated. The compressor also includes a power input shaft (214) (Fig. 3b) attached to the extension rotor and a gear assembly (216) attached to the rotors that is adapted to insure the synchronous rotation of the rotors. A rotor case (116) (Fig. 2a) houses the rotors and has an intake port (118) and an exhaust port (120). The present invention also includes an engine (200) (Fig. 3a) that is similar to the compressor and includes a spark plug (223). Methods of compressing, pumping and generating electricity and mechanical power are also part of the present invention.</p> |
