A hunting rifle has a top-mounted sight with a quick-release fixture. The fixture has a clamping face which is part of a lower lever arm which is an extension of a clamp lever within the main body of the fixture. The clamping face can swivel at right angles to the barrel. The main body has a cam disc which rotates on a pivot. The upper arm of the clamp lever is held against the cam by a spring. The cam is rotated by a lever between open and closed presentation.
