An actuator (10) has upper (11) and lower (12) electromagnets each with coils (13,14) and yokes (15,16), between which a pivoted armature (17) swivels on a drag bearing (18). On one side, the pivoted armature has a finger (19), with which it activates a gas shuttle valve (20) to slide on-axis in a cylinder head and to control a gas exchange channel (28).
