A thermo siphon chiller refrigerator for use in cold districts capable of forming a refrigerant natural circulating refrigerating cycle having an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, and a compressor and also allowing to function, by the combination of refrigerant pipeline, as a backup refrigerant compressing and force-circulating system when the ambient temperature is high, characterized in that the compressor (10) is additionally installed in the refrigerant natural circulating refrigerating cycle having the outdoor heat exchanger (12), the indoor heat exchanger (11) installed at a position lower than that of the outdoor heat exchanger, and an expansion valve (18), and when the ambient temperature is high and the capacity of the refrigerant natural circulating refrigerating cycle is not sufficient, a backup refrigerant compressing and force-circulating refrigerating cycle is formed by the additionally installed compressor (10).
