<p>The invention concerns fibers for reinforcing cement products and the use of said fibers and the fiber-cement or concrete products reinforced with said fibers. The inventive polypropylene fibers comprise a core and a cladding which contains a mixture of Ziegler-Natta type polypropylene and metallocene polypropylene. The cladding material is grafted with an acrylic derivative. Furthermore, said cladding can be subjected to a corona discharge treatment and to a deposition of optionally modified polymers. Said deposition is obtained by surface treatment with an aqueous polymer dispersion. The inventive cement products exhibit enhanced mechanical properties.</p> |
