The invention relates to a method for the removal of gaseous organo-sulphur compounds, in particular THT, from fuel gas streams. The method comprises bringing the gas stream into contact with an adsorbent, with a clay mineral from the hormite group, such as palygorskite. attapulgite, sepiolite and paramomtmorillonite as adorbent. In particular, the clay mineral is sepiolit e and the fuel gas stream comprises natural gas. In this way large gas volumes can be purified for a prolonged period with the aid of an environmenetally friendly and inexpensive adsorbent. The invention also relates to a combination of a gas filter based on a clay mineral from the hormite group a nd a fuel cell. The invention also relates to a method wherein the clay mineral has been provided with a metal salt or a metal oxide, or a method wherein th e clay mineral is combined with a second adsorbent. |
