The invention concerns a laser welding installation comprising a head (2) whereof the intermediate portion (24) includes focusing means (22) defining an optical axis (Y) substantially merging with the head longitudinal axis. Said head further comprises means for reflecting or diffracting (32) the focused laser beam arranged downstream of the focusing means relative to the laser beam propagating direction and angularly deflecting the focused laser beam, in particular by an angle of about 90 DEG , such that the propagating direction of the laser beam exiting from the head has a small incident angle relative to the support (6). The reflecting and diffracting means are supported by a thin structure defining an outer wall which runs along said reflecting or diffracting means, thereby enabling more precise and efficient welding of cylindrical elements, in particular a coil (4) at the surface of a planar surface. The invention is useful for making solar panels. |
