The invention relates to a method for unpacking a shaped body (1) embedded inside unbound particle material (2), whereby the shaped body (1) is arranged on a platform (4), which can be displaced at least in a vertical direction. A container (3) is placed around the displaceable platform (4) at least during unpacking. When viewed at least in the direction from the platform (4) to the shaped body (1), said container is open on top. The platform (4) is displaced upward with a desired adjustable speed toward the shaped body (1) while, at the same time, the unbound particle material (2) is removed.
