The test stand has bearing pedestals and roller bearing pedestals having two conductive side parts between which plastics blocks are arranged. The blocks extend downwards to lie between the rails of the track, so that the side parts are placed on the tracks. A dimension of the blocks corresponds to the gauge of the track. The test stand has a variable number of roller bearing pedestals for driven axles, a short bearing pedestal, and a long bearing pedestal. The pedestals are placed on a track. Each holds four ball bearings arranged in opposing pairs in holes so that the wheels of the driven axles of the locomotives is located on each pair of bearings, while the wheels of the non-driven axles lie on the pedestals. The power is supplied via the track.
