PROCESS FOR PRODUCING MEVALONIC ACID

摘要

A microorganism capable of biosynthesizing mevalonic acid from acetyl-CoA is constructed by transferring a DNA participating in the biosynthesis of mevalonic acid from acetyl-CoA into a host microorganism (preferably a microorganism having exclusively a non-mevalonic acid pathway) and expressing it therein. Mevalonic acid can be efficiently produced by culturing the above microorganism and collecting mevalonic acid formed in a large amount in the culture.
