PURPOSE: A public transportation guidance system and a method thereof are provided to increase the utilization frequency of public transportation by supplying information of visitors who use the public transportation to distributors, who provide a merit to them. CONSTITUTION: A transportation card(100) is provided with an IC(Integrated Circuit) chip and stores public transportation utilizing information such as authentication information, public transportation get-in/out time information, and station name information. A card reader(200) reads the public transportation utilizing information, authenticates the read information, transmits the authenticated information, and updates the public transportation utilizing information. A fare adjustment system(300) receives the authenticated information from the card reader(200) and bills a fare on the basis of the received information. A check card reader(400) reads of the public transportation utilization stored in the transportation card(100) to check the utilization of public transportation on the basis of utilization information stored on a memory(401). |
