A lens (2) is arranged ahead of the receiver and a compensator for light reflected from the object is provided in the zone near the receiver. The lens is designed so that the reflected light in the zone near the receiver is more strongly refracted in the direction to the optical axis of the transmitter, the nearer the object is positioned to the transmitter/receiver.
