A replaceable cleaning head (50) for a cleaning utensil (20) includes a rigid core (51) having a handle end and a working end, a coupling structure (55) on the handle end of the core (51) adapted to be coupled to an associated handle (22), and a flexible, resilient, porous, absorbent cleaning medium (60) mounted on the core (51) and covering the core (51) except for the coupling structure (55). The head (50) may be hollow and threadedly connectable to an end of a hollow handle (22) for defining a fluid reservoir (23, 59), the head (50) having an orifice (54) for providing communication between the reservoir (23, 59) and the cleaning medium (60). The cleaning medium (60) has axially alternating circumferential recesses (64) and projections (65) facilitating axial compression and expansion of the medium (60) to draw fluid from the reservoir (23, 59).
