Gas, and in particular air, for supply to a plant or apparatus (36) in which the gas comes into contact with a liquid, is treated by passing the gas through a scrubber device (11) in which the gas is scrubbed by a scrub-liquor which is the same as the liquid with which the gas comes into contact in the plant or apparatus (36).
