The vanadium redox flow battery electrolyte-use amorphous solid composition is characterized in that its compositions exist in a region surrounded by line A-B, line B-E, line E-F and line F-A respectively formed by connecting point A (1.25, 23.2), point B (1.25, 20.4), point E (1.60, 18.4) and point F (1.60, 21.2) in the x-y coordinates system where the y-coordinate is given by a total vanadium content (weight%) of tetravalent vanadium ions and trivalent vanadium ions with a vanadium content amount weight ratio between tetravalent vanadium ions and trivalent vanadium ions being 4.5:5.5 to 5.5:4.5, and the x-coordinate is given by a value obtained by dividing b value by a value, a value being obtained by dividing a total amount of tetravalent vanadium ions and trivalent vanadium ions by 50.94, b value being obtained by dividing sulfuric acid content amount by 96.1.
