A snow skate is disclosed which provides improved control and skate-like performance, particularly on hard-pack or icy surfaces. The S snow skate has edges which increasingly project from the central flat region of the ski to the forward area. Preferably this is achieved by making the base increasingl y concave forward and rearward from a central generally flat region.
