<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract position data which does not include an influence of flaws with respect to each color in the case of occurrence of a plurality of flaws in an image transfer system, without taking the trouble to avoid flaws to generate color resists in the image transfer system. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 15 is provided which controls an intermediate transfer belt 6 or/and image forming units 10Y, 10M, 10C, and 10K on the basis of position detection of a plurality of resist marks for color superposition, and the controller 15 acquires position data DP representative of forming positions of respective resist marks to reference values arbitrarily set for the resist marks formed on the intermediate transfer belt and divides the position data DP of the resist mark for each color by unit reference ranges and performs arithmetic processing for arranging reference values with respect to divided position data DP and extracts a part where a plurality of position data DP to the reference values subjected to the arithmetic processing are superposed, as position data DP of the resist mark of the color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
