CONTROL METHOD OF TRANSMISSION FOR SHIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent seizure, wear and the like of a clutch. SOLUTION: This control method is used for controlling a transmission for a ship provided with: an input shaft 1 for inputting power from a motor; a sun gear 12; a plurality of planetary gears 13a; a planetary gear mechanism 11 having a carrier 14 supporting the planetary gears 13 through their shafts and an internal gear 15; an output shaft 2 connected with the carrier 14; an input clutch 7 for selectively transmitting power from the input shaft 1 to the internal gear 15; a lock clutch 18 for selectively fixing the internal gear 15; and a rotary driving device 19 for driving the sun gear 12 and for controlling its revolution in forward and reverse directions and its stoppage. When the ship travels at a creeping speed or a low speed, the clutch 7 is disengaged, the lock clutch 18 is engaged with the internal gear 15 to stop it, and the sun gear 12 is rotated by the driving device 19 to rotate the output shaft 2.
