PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging circuit for a chair stairway elevator or a level difference eliminator using safe charging terminals with no dispersion of charging performance. SOLUTION: Relays A, B, C provided in parallel to charging terminals 8 of charging points 6 arranged at stop positions of a line L of the chair stairway elevator 1 or the level difference eliminator 1' are connected to a charging power supply 10 for intermittently supplying a charging current Ic to the charging points 6, via (a) contacts of the relays A, B, C. When a contactor 11 of a car 2 connected to a battery 7 has contact with the charging terminal 8, the relay A, B, or C is operated and the contact (a) is closed to permit the charge with the charging power supply 10. When the charging terminal 8 is separated from the contactor 11, the relay A, B, or C is turned off because of the intermittence of the charging current Ic supplied by the charging power supply 10 and the contact (a) is opened to preclude the application of voltage to the charging terminal 8. Thus, the charging circuit for the chair stairway elevator 1 or the level difference eliminator 1' can use the safe charging terminals 8 with no dispersion of charging performance.
